What to write to us about

• A wrong number, or one with no timestamp or source. The most useful message you can send. Include the page URL.
• A place page that is missing, or a place name or county we have got wrong.
• Using our data, the API, or the embeddable widget on your site.
• Press enquiries after a significant earthquake.

What we cannot help with

• Reporting that you felt an earthquake. That goes to USGS Did You Feel It?, which is what produces the official intensity maps. A report to us does nothing.
• Emergency situations. Call your local emergency number. We are a data site, not a response agency.
• Whether an earthquake is coming. Nobody can answer that, and we will not pretend to. See our method.
• Structural or engineering advice about a specific building. That needs a licensed structural engineer who can see it.
