How to read the radar

The centre of each radar is the place you chose. Rings mark 25, 50, 100 and 200 km. Every dot is a real earthquake from the last seven days, placed at its true direction from you; its colour is its magnitude, and older quakes fade.

The verdict looks at the nearest 100 km. "All quiet" means USGS recorded nothing there this week. "Small quakes nearby" means the largest was between magnitude 2.5 and 4 — the size that is often felt indoors close by and very rarely does damage.

Is that normal for here?
